Preferred portfolios:
Head Mentor:
Having been a mentor this year I would love to pass on the knowledge I have learned this year and guide the new mentors on their journey.
Welcoming Leader:
I think it will be a fun challenge for me, but I know I can handle it.
Second years guardian:
Although I believe there should not be a second years committee, I still think there should be someone to help the second years transition to seniors.
Sport:
I love sport and have played various types of sports. I want to help make Pieke’s sporting teams one of the best on campus.
Suggestions:
Have more interactions with men’s residences as currently we do not have any interactions with men’s residences in welcoming.
Dissolve the second years committee as they have not done the work they should have for the past 2 – 3 years. In their place we can make a “welcoming” committee that is open to anyone in Pieke. They can then help in welcoming to take the high workload off the mentors and HC.
Try to have more events throughout the year to keep the #GEES through the year.
Problems in previous leadership structures:
The second years committee’s lack of dedication in welcoming and leaving work that the mentors had to do for them. This is the reason I believe the second years committee should be dissolved.
The lack of a lot of leadership development events. I believe that there should be more to help find the next leaders of Pieke.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
I believe that when under pressure I can still perform to the best of my abilities. I also think that I am very observant and can notice when something is not right.
On the other side, I am sometimes impatient and want results right away instead of waiting and giving things time. I can also get easily bored when I am not interested in something.
Type of leader:
I want to be a leader that listens to what everyone has to say, but that can also make split second decisions when needed.
